General Settings

The General Settings section allows you to configure various system-wide preferences for your business. These include business operating hours, printer margins, date and telephone number formats, currency settings, customer invoice and receipt messages, and global units of measurement for weight, size, and volume.

1. Business Hours

Begin by clicking the Business Hours tab. Here, you can configure your business's regular opening and closing times for each day of the week.

To enter or modify your business hours, click the appropriate cell under the Start Time or End Time column for the corresponding day, then enter the time using the 24-hour (military time) format: HH:MM. Always use two digits for the hour and two digits for the minutes.

For example:

  • 9:30 AM should be entered as 09:30.
  • 3:00 PM should be entered as 15:00.
  • 6:00 PM should be entered as 18:00.

Enter the appropriate opening and closing times for each day of the week. If your business is closed on a particular day, enter 00:00 for both the start and end times.

Important: This schedule represents your business's regular operating hours throughout the year. It does not account for holidays or special closures, which must be managed separately.

Once you have finished entering your business hours, click the Save button.

2. Printer Margins

Next, click the Printer Margins tab to configure the default printing margins for all printers used by the software.

Enter the desired margin values for each side of the paper: top, bottom, left, and right.

These settings provide general margin adjustments and may need to be fine-tuned depending on your printer model and paper configuration. We recommend experimenting with values between 0 and 20 for each margin.

After entering your initial settings, print a document from the software to check the alignment and appearance of the output. Adjust the margins as needed and repeat the printing test until the results meet your requirements.

Once you are satisfied with the settings, click the Save button.

3. Date, Telephone, and Currency Formats

Click the Formats tab to configure how dates, telephone numbers, and currency values are displayed throughout the software.

Date Format

Select the date format appropriate for your country or region:

  • Month/Day/Year (MM/DD/YYYY): Recommended for businesses operating in the United States.
  • Day/Month/Year (DD/MM/YYYY): Commonly used in Europe and many other countries.

Choose the format that matches the standard date convention used by your business.

Telephone Number Format

Configure the telephone number display format using a formatting mask. You can use any characters you prefer to separate the digits, while the pound sign (#) represents an individual numeric digit.

For example, common United States telephone number formats include:

  • (###) ###-####
  • ### ###-####

These are simply examples. Enter the formatting mask that best matches the telephone number convention used in the country where your business operates.

Currency Format

Specify the currency symbol and currency name used by your business.

For example, for businesses operating in the United States, enter:

  • Currency Symbol: $
  • Currency Name: Dollar

Make sure to enter the appropriate currency information for your business location.

4. Invoice and Receipt Settings

Click the Invoice Settings tab to configure the message or comment that appears at the bottom of customer invoices and receipts.

Enter the text you would like printed on your customer invoices or receipts. This can be used for thank-you messages, return policies, promotional information, or other important customer notices.

If you do not want a message to appear on your invoices or receipts, simply leave this field blank.

5. Other Settings

Click the Other tab to configure the default units of measurement used throughout the software.

Specify the units you want to use for the following measurements:

  • Weight: For example, LB (pounds).
  • Size: For example, IN (inches).
  • Volume: For example, GAL (gallons).

The examples above reflect commonly used measurement units in the United States. Select the appropriate units based on the measurement system used by your business.

6. Save Your Settings

After completing all the necessary configurations across the different tabs, click the Save and Close button.

This will save all your changes and close the General Settings window.
